Wire mesh is also known as slope protection mesh and wire rope mesh.

The steel wire mesh mesh covers the flexible mesh in the areas with potential geological disasters by fixing methods such as prestressed steel bars (anchor rods) or wire rope anchor rods (used when there are edge support ropes), special anchor pads and edge support ropes when necessary. On the slope; the prestressed bolt pretensions the flexible mesh part, thus forming a continuous support for the entire slope. After local displacement or damage, it is bound (retained) to the prestress near the original position, so as to realize its active protection (reinforcement) function.

TECCO steel wire mesh: 3.0 high-strength steel wire is used, the tensile strength is above 1770MP, the mesh size is 65*65, and the length and width of the mesh are generally 10/20/30*3.5m (also can be changed according to the actual situation).

Anchor rod: Generally, a Ø25/28 ordinary threaded steel rod anchor rod with one end (exposed section) with a machined thread is used, and hot-dip galvanized anti-corrosion treatment is carried out as required. Drive-in anchor: optional, use Ø16 steel bar, the length is generally 0.3--0.6m, and one end is welded with a hook.

The main protective functions of steel wire mesh:

Reinforce the slope surface, restrain the occurrence of collapse, weathering and spalling, and slump, and limit the movement range of local or a small amount of rockfall. It can meet the anti-corrosion life requirements of up to 100 years, but its reinforcement capacity is only about 70%-80%, which is not suitable for large orphan stones with a volume greater than 1m3.

The main function of steel wire mesh

The enclosure function limits the range of rockfall movement and partially inhibits the occurrence of collapse. It can meet the anti-corrosion life requirements of up to 100 years, and is not suitable for large orphan stones with a volume greater than 1m3.

1) The quality requirements of the steel wire rope should meet the requirements of "Wire Rope Making" (GB/T8919); the galvanized amount of the steel wire rope should meet the requirements of the B-type galvanized steel wire rope in Table 6 of GB/T8919, and its nominal tensile strength is not equal. Less than 1770MPa, the minimum breaking tension is not less than 40KN (Φ8mm steel wire rope) or not less than 20KN (Φ6mm steel wire rope).

2) According to different uses, the side length of the diamond mesh is generally 300, 250, 200, 150, 120, 100mm. The mesh side length error is not more than 20mm.

3) The finished mesh block specifications are generally 4×4/2, 5×3/4/5/6m, and the mesh block size can also be adjusted according to the design requirements.

4) Preparation of wire rope net The preparation of wire rope net should meet the following requirements:

The upper and lower staggered weaving; the wire ropes woven into the net shall not have broken wires or loose wires; the cross nodes shall be fixed with crimping parts, the joints shall be crimped with lap joints, and shall not be omitted, and the length of the exposed lap joints of the steel rope shall be at least 10mm; When the net is used, the crimping parts and the lap joints shall be mechanically crimped, and the surface shall not have cracks and obvious damage; the shape of the net shall be flat, and the rope shall not be knotted and obviously twisted.

5) The lap joint is generally made of ordinary soft pure aluminum tube.
